It absolutely will help with stomach acid (it is a base after all - base and acid cancel each other). The thing is, it doesn't taste pleasant, and it is REALLY high in salt. So don't use this if you have high blood pressure. It absolutely will work in a pinch though, I have used it many times. I don't think it does anything for gas though.
