Hi Chick. My first child (daughter) was 10lb 9oz when she was born and she was a natural birth and i wouldn't change that for anything. I have been advised that the next baby that we have that they will induce me a month early due to the size of my daughter. This is a very personal thing but i would always go for the natural way, if possible. Good luck.
References :
as you are having psd with each pregnancy its going to be difficult to wait until the end, and you may need an emergency c-section if your baby is too big for you. if you feel more comfortable with a c-section then opt for one, its better in some ways so trust your instinct. you can breastfeed after a c-section but it depends on the op as some people are unconcious for hours, but im sure you will be able to. if you plan it then you can get things prepared. but if you decide to wait for a natural birth make sure you get as much advice from your midwife and doctors as you can. good luck.
References :
Hi love i am surprised that they havent given you an option of a c section already what with what you went through before and are going throgh now.You really need to speak to your doctors. As far as i know you can still breast feed it will probably just be a bit more painful at first.I dont usually advise people to opt for c sections cos i had 5 naturally and the healing time is quicker but in your circumstances love im sure it would be easier on you.Im so sorry for your loss last year.Good luck in what you decide.x
References :
I would be very carefull having a C-section can sometimes cause problems, I have had 2 emergecy C Sections, the first was fine with no complications, after the 2nd I had an infection in my wound which lasted 4 months, I had to be seen every day by a nurse, it was a nightmare
References :
I would opt for a c-section. Talk to your midwife/GP and explain that you are serious about wanting this (if that is the decision you come to). It sounds as if you have legitimate grounds to request one.

I had a c-section with my first son as he was breech (just as well because he was 10lb 1 oz!)....so I wouldn't have fancied pushing him out. I breastfeed with no problems - just make sure you get one of those breastfeeding cushions to lay him on. As you probably know, holding a heavy baby even without a c-section can be tiring.

I then went on to have a vaginal birth with my second son. He was 8lb.

Both births were different - both painful but in different ways. The pain was a bit worse after the c-section but no pain before as I didn't go into labour and the pain with the natural birth was painful at the time but healed quicker.

Good luck with whatever decision you make.
References :
Hey there

my mum had me and my two brothers by c-section...so basically she had 3 c-sections. My mum says that breast feeding is possible after a c-section, because she did it after all 3. :) Oh and this website is really good with all types of information about c-sections, and you can also post your own questions on it, and other mums will answer them! the website is:
http://www.pregnancy-info.net/forums/Cesarean_Section/

I really recommend that website so please have a look at it! Hope you have a good birth xxxx
References :
Why aren't you on bed rest? You most definitely should be, after having a stillborn last year. As well as being on crutches.

Quit stressing, it will stress our your baby!
I would most definitely try for a vaginal birth. It is so empowering to do it all on your own! You can do it! Think of the past.. when women didn't even have an option of c-section.
Of course, if it has to happen it has to happen but i would never go into a birth situation PLANNING for a c-section.
Good luck!
References :
what does your dr say? and yes you can BF after c-section it might take a TINY bit longer for your milk to come in but not much, the hormones are still released and you still have to deal with lochia. i would talk to your dr about this since they are aware of everything and all the medical side of everything (sorry, i don't know a whole lot about PSD)....GL and congrats on the baby!
References :
It really is a decision you need to make. We can suggest, but in the end it is all up to you.

I had 2 c-section. My first one was fine, was in pain but that was expected but the csection and the recovery went smoothly.

My second one, the c-section itself went smoothly but my recovery was a little less. Was more in pain and recovery took a little longer.

If you feel that you should get a csection, talk to your dr. If you feel that vaginal is still the way to go for you, then just prepare yourself.

If it were me, i'd honestly opt for the c-section. But that is just me.

Since you seem to be stressing over this, i would think about it hard and make your decision as soon as you can, so you can relax and put your mind at ease so the stress can disappear.

Good luck.
References :
If your doctor is WILLING to let you opt for a c-section, I would do it. Granted your healing time is longer after a c-section versus a natural birth, but with the head measuring as large as it is you may end up having to go through an emergency c-section anyways.

And, YES, you can breastfeed after a c-section.
